The site, which is online at www.GoGatorNation.com, will have its official release on national television September 16th, 2006 during the Gator’s football game against the University of Tennessee. The Web site gives Gator fans the ability to upload videos and pictures to continue the ‘Go Gators’ story. The Web site will automatically link the videos to create a movie of user-generated clips. ‘GoGatorNation.com is designed to be a social network and to work in conjunction with the activities of the UF Alumni Association,’ said Joe Hice, UF’s associate vice president of marketing and public relations. ‘It’s basically a Gator Facebook.’ The site is an expansion of the Gator Nation campaign introduced a year ago to highlight a broad range of the university’s academic and research accomplishments. The site also gives alumni and supporters a chance to become part of the campaign. ‘The interactive elements of this site are very unique,’ said Peter VanRysdam, 352 Media Group’s vice president of marketing. ‘The site will rely on its users to dictate the direction of the content.
